Less than a week to Christmas!

It's been almost two weeks since I've been back and I'm loving it!

On the day I flew off, the weather was unfriendly! Thank God that it wasn't raining heavily and it was only super cloudy. =) My flight got delayed for about forty-five minutes to an hour! Well, at least it was not as bad as a 3-hour delay (hehe..), I don't think I can imagine myself waiting at LCCT for hours and just sitting down doing nothing or probably staring at the other passengers. *blink blink* The plane took off at about 4.30pm and I ended up sitting in front of a toddler. The kid behind me kept pushing my chair. Ish ish! But I napped throughout the flight because...

I COULDN'T SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE!!!!!
(Sometime on Thursday night: 6th Dec and Friday morning: 7th Dec)

I kept hearing some kind of "pontianak" laughter in the dining area just outside of my room. It bothered my ears and mind so much that I could not sleep! ARGH!!!!!!!! The last time I saw my clock, it read 2.05am. I was furious!!! I had been trying to sleep for nearly TWO AND A HALF HOURS! My Statistics paper was at 8.30am and the monsters outside kept laughing and talking like they do not give a ****. Grrrr.... I wonder if I should really get earplugs? A church friend actually offered to lend me earmuffs but I refused. Oh well, I might get my own, I think.

Anyway, I'm really overjoyed to be back home after a few months of surviving in Subang! (I can sleep in peace!! YESSSSS!!!) After eating at a few local coffee shops here, I really prefer our local food in Kuching compared to the ones there. Maybe because I cannot really stand a number of Semenanjung's spicy food? Eheh.. Sadly there still aren't that many places to go in Kuching. But then again, it's good cause you won't be spending too much on transport or food or to buy stuff and all. (^.^)

The PC at home crashed recently and I would not be able to write this if I didn't have this notebook. Though it's out-of-date and out-of-style, right now, it's a lifesaver!! *kisses notebook* =D Oh and if any of you "Greenies" are reading this: "Sorry! I wasn't able to add my share! I didn't really have time to. Eheh.. I'll try my best to share soon!"

Nickki and I just set up our Christmas tree yesterday and will not be displaying anything "Santa" because we strongly agree that Christmas does not equate with Santa Claus. It's CHRISTmas and it's suppose to be a day to celebrate the day that Jesus CHRIST was born! Without Him, there won't be any peace for mankind. I'm not talking about the Earthly kind of peace whereby all the beauty queens always wish for, I'm talking bout the Spiritual type (if that's what you would call it, someone correct me if I'm wrong!) where God is at peace with men! Haven't you heard?

There's PEACE between us and God!!

That's why all we have to do is just call Him or talk to Him whenever we want to without doing anything like killing people or animals for sacrificial offerings just to please Him, NO! Jesus did the sacrificing part for all of us on Good Friday! If He never came into this world, we would still be waiting and waiting and we would have to kill animals and all to please God to ask Him to forgive our sins. And with today's Animal Rights activists getting hyped up over small matters, I don't think that would be very possible for every human being to be allowed to do sacrificial offerings. Imagine the millions of lambs or birds or bulls or whatever creature the world will sacrifice EVERYDAY!

So actually, it's great that everyone is celebrating Christmas! It's not JUST a "Christian" celebration cause when you look at it this way, it's MANKIND'S celebration! Hallelujah! Hehe.. So spread the love! Christmas is coming! A time of giving and loving and celebrating! There's no other day in the world whereby people of all nations would be willing to give and share their love to others especially strangers (and hopefully enemies!) on the same day! Isn't Christmas wonderful? =) I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I LOVE JESUS!

Super short half (continued)

It's my last night here! Woohoo! I'll be on my flight back home in less than twenty hours from now!

I'll be going home to mummy's food, my comfortable bed, Bon Bon, Bun Bun and so many more! Yay! I can't wait!

Gonna go pack now!

One half

Today, I:

1) woke up later then I intended to (about 8.30am)
2) was home alone in the morning because three of my housemates had Chemistry exam and one was at her ICPU graduation
3) saw the cleaners that comes to my unit for the very first time
4) gave up doing Further Math exercises because after 3 hours of trying them out, I managed to answer only HALF!!
5) didn't eat my lunch because I wanted to grab food from the cafeteria as it was raining and when I got there, it was CLOSED (for the ICPU graduation)
6) went in to the Further Math exam venue with an EMPTY stomach!
7) nearly freezed to death during my exam and I asked to be shifted away from the air-con
8) thank the Lord that I could understand some of the exam questions, I managed to do HALF!! Haha!

That was a recap of what I did from this morning right up to now. I still haven't eaten anything after I got out of the exam venue. It's still raining outside that's why. But I'll probably leave now if not I might die of starvation in the library! I'll continue later!

One for today!

Hurrah! This is the last time this year I shall be washing my clothes in Subang!

Greetings from the balcony in my laundry area!

I'm now hooked on to an unsecured wireless connection and being eaten alive by mosquitoes. I don't really fancy surfing the Net here as it is kind of stuffy (thank God that the weather is cool now!) and my dinosaur laptop does not display web pages well. I'm not a computer expert so don't get me to explain what I mean by not displaying pages clearly, to put it simply: it's crappy using this laptop to surf the internet(I can't see coloured backgrounds and all those fancy stuff!), that's why I try to make use of the computers in college!

Anyway, my papers just now were ok. Yeah, so define ok? Well, it was not very hard and I expected some questions but me being me, I did not refer to those topics even when my instincts told me too. Silly huh? Economics was much easier than Physics, much MUCH easier! I guess cause it was basically common sense and Mr. Gobi's explanations really got stuck in my head. The only problem with Economics was that I didn't have enough time to finish my essay!

The objective questions were easy and I'm expecting at most three mistakes (fingers crossed!) but for my essay, hmmm.. I can't really guess because it might be marked pretty strictly. Eeps! I did the question on price elasticities and income elasticities, and substitutes and complement goods. Waaah! So much I wanted to say and I only managed to write half of what I thought!

We were unlucky to have such a nagging invigilator during Economics. She was quite rude and did not even give us time to write our names before we began our paper! How unkind! Furthermore she was barking at those who wrote their names at the end of the exam and after the "instructions" like "Stop writing NOW" and "Put your pens down or we will consider you cheating" were given. She even snatched some of my friends' pens out of their hands and hey, who cared what you said lady? Nobody wants to take the risk by handing up their answers without their names and details! What if we won't get our marks? She sounded like she hated my class (and PL4) or something. No sympathy at all! Hmph!

Unfortunately for some of my friends, they will be burning the midnight oil tonight to cram Chemistry notes down their brains. For me, I just got to do some exercises or else I won't be able to answer my Further Math paper tomorrow afternoon! I wonder how will it be? Mr. Peter hardly explained to us about the exam format and discussed whether what we wrote was sufficient or anything? Aaah...

By the way, Jylene told me that she would be doing culinary arts next year! Yay! That means she'll be here next year and she would not have to suffer doing something she does not like! I'm so happy for you Jylene! =D I hope she cooks me scrumptious meals next year! I'm kind of tired having to eat at Asia Cafe day after day after day after day... You reading this Jylene? I want a hearty breakfast, healthy lunch and cuisine food for dinner everyday! Mwahahahahaha! =P

Gotta go and hang my clothes!

Tuesday, December 4

If I don't do well in the other half on Thursday, my Further Math result would be...

Oh wow! I'm not putting high hopes on that paper just now! I couldn't finish in time and left most of my answers half done. Aaaa... So sad, so sad. It's either I really can't imagine it well or my English worsen until I don't understand what the question was describing. Double Aaaa... Oh well, that's over already.

I'm now in the library. I kind of like it here because it's not like a library! What I mean is that it isn't so quiet until you can hear a pin fall on the floor or something like that! No. It has a little bit of noise from the students here but at a minimal volume. Just nice! =) Besides that, there are so many revision books here! If anyone decides to come to Taylor's College, don't worry about getting textbooks or revision books for your subjects cuz everything you need is in the library! I'm serious! But you have to be quick cause there's a huge chance that loads of other students would want the book you want.

By the way, if any of you ever decide to study at Taylor's (in Subang Jaya) and are from outstation, do not, i repeat, DO NOT stay in the accomodation provided by Taylor's because it is really OVERPRICED! I didn't know about that until I came here so I'm kind of doing you all a favour by warning you first! If you are living under a budget, forget about the apartments Taylor's will offer you. There are many houses nearby and apartment units which have been proven to be safe (not all though but the ones my friends are staying in are pretty ok), cheap and at a walking distance from the college. But if you can afford it, go ahead la... I can't move out because they will not give me back my deposit and daddy totally forbids me to stay in someone else's place. Not to say that I'm really against his decision, there are pros and cons to it. It's true that I can save a lot of cash but how can we be sure of the private owners? What if my landlord (or landlady) is creepy? Or worse: a pedophile!!! AAAHHH!!

So yea, if any of you (hey juniors, I'm talking to YOU!) are considering Taylor's and want to know more about the good, the bad and the ugly through the eyes of a non-local (I'm considered a non-local because I'm from Sarawak, in case you didn't know), drop me a question or contact me, I'll be glad to help!

I shall now seek for Alain Anderton's Economics book to prepare my brain for Economics tomorrow! His book has more thorough explanations compared to Colin Bamford and his gang's book. Ciao~

Monday, December 3

I can almost smell it!

One and a half subjects down, three and a half more to go!

I didn't do any revision for Thinking Skills because I thought that it would have been meaningless and my time is better spent on revising the subjects I'm poorer in. It turned out that the questions in the exam were past years' questions and everybody was fussing over if anyone did it beforehand and interrogating one another for their answers. So kiasu... So what if you could have looked through the questions earlier and memorized the answers or something? You won't be using your brains anymore to THINK but to squeeze out whatever you tried to absorb.

Math paper was easier than expected! I just hope that I'm not too over-confident and end up disappointing myself. It was only the first Math paper and the other half will be Statistic questions on the 7th December. By the way, did I mention that I'll be flying back earlier on Friday? It's confirmed! I'll be leaving at 3.25pm from LCCT by Air Asia! Yay!! I can't wait to go back home!

I won't be adding much this time because tomorrow is a killer paper! Further Math: Mechanics!! Waaargh! I still can't get a hang of that paper. But I'm wondering if I should pay a little more attention to my Economics because I won't have much time to revise it tomorrow. I need to look through my Physics too....

Scarcity necessitates us to make choices, resulting in the sacrifice of other alternatives, also known as opportunity cost. Resources are scarce therefore we must ask ourselves these questions: What? How? and For Whom?

A little from the first chapter, very easy to remember. But the others? Eheheheheheh....

Last class of the year 2007

I've been having weird dreams lately. It's a little complicated as it involves me and some people and certain circumstances which would be miraculous in reality! I don't know whether it's just my subconscious or probably signs but when I think of it, those dreams are something which I really want to see happen. And when I think of them, I feel hope and I know that God is in control of my life and future.

Last year I had a dream, well, it was actually a nightmare which was pretty unforgettable. I woke up feeling full of fear for the very first time. It was something which I remember very clearly till today. I can even give the exact same details that I gave many times before today, at least that's what I think I'm remembering. The message in my dream left me confused and scared as what I felt in my dream was pure evil. I don't know if any of you have had dreams like that before but anyway, I'll share that nightmare with anyone who wants to listen next time. But right now, I'm gonna talk about my day yesterday!

I couldn't get up in the morning and I didn't want to so I did the unthinkable: I PURPOSELY GOT UP LATE AND SKIPPED A CLASS!! *GASPS!!!!* It was Physics at 8am but I already knew that it would be revision. So I guess I didn't really miss out much. Hehe.. I went to college later at 9am for Economics. I definitely could not skip it because my teacher is such a fun guy in class and I can understand much better when he explains it compared to the books I've looked through!

We secretly bought a cake to celebrate Adeline and Juen's birthday and decided to surprise them during Math period at noon (the guys chose this period on purpose because they didn't want to do Math). So a few of us stalled them during lunch break while the rest quickly brought the cake to class! It was quite funny as Juen tought that she's in it on the whole secret thing because I told her that we would be geting a cake for Adeline only. It's still a little bit too early for Juen (her birthday is on the 8th December) but we did her's too as I'll be flying off the day before that.

Juen didn't come the day before so I messaged her and told her to come to college as we would be surprising Adeline (her birthday is on the 3rd December but we would be having exams on that day) so she agreed to come! Danial nearly ruined it by insisting her the day before to come to college. Danial planned most of it (the cake, when and how) and I kind of carried out his plan in a super sneaky way! Hehe.. Adeline and Juen were supposed to be left in the dark but I was thinking that it would be too obvious and suspicious if Suan, Ching, Sayuri, Raimi and I knew something and the both of them did not (they both know how to sense there's some trickery going on around them especially Juen) so I let Juen in on the big surprise secret! Wahahahaha!

The others went back to class first and Danial purposely left his bag in Adeline's car so Adeline had to retrieve his bag before heading to class. Suan was with Adeline and I was with Juen and we both knew what to do. Juen nearly walked back to class first but I persuaded her to walk slower a bit just to see Adeline's reaction when we enter the class together. Boy did she get a shock! When Juen and Adeline walked in the class (before that they switched the light off and lit the candles) everyone was singing the Happy Birthday song! They didn't know it was for real and tought they were just teasing our Math teacher Mrs. Koh because that's what they did the day before as well (minus the cake).

Mission accomplished!! They never suspected a thing!

After they blew the cake and all, everyone was taking pictures and had a piece of tiramisu(half the cake) and banana Chocolate cake(the other half of the cake)! There were some icing attack moments which caused the lesson to be delayed as well. Hehe.. I guess after this birthday surprise, the next one would have to be different because the others won't be fooled by the same trick! Hmmm.. I don't think I'll get my turn because my birthday next year would be during the holidays but I'll definitely have fun surprising the others!!

So that was the highlight of yesterday! I need to go and pack some of my things and study for my semester exam!
