About Twilight

I read it and I can't wait for the movie to come out!

For those of you who have no clue about the novel, here's a cute summary of the whole story:

Somehow the artist failed to write down the characters' names so people who have never read the book may be kind of clueless.

Oh well, for the sake of my friends who have not read the book YET..

Twilight
Scene:

  1. #1 Bella complaining about things because everything just sucks
  2. #2 Map of Bella's new school's cafeteria (note: "Hot Vampires" are the Cullens and actually nobody in school knows their true identity)
  3. #3 Jacob tells Bella about Fork's history (it involves werewolves and vampires, the local tribe and the Cullens)
  4. #4 Bella finds out Edward is a vampire and that he is sooo tempted by her blood (and not forgetting that he wants to eat her up everytime she's near him) but somehow they end up falling in love
  5. #5 Bella watches the Cullens play baseball
  6. #6 The encounter with Victoria and James and Laurent
  7. #7 Bella is aimed by James and Victoria, the Cullens are protecting her, Bella does not want to trouble them and does her "heroic" stunt by meeting up with James, bla bla bla...
  8. #8 Edward and Bella going to their school prom
It does not end there. The sequel to Twilight is New Moon!

Scene:
  1. #1 Bella injures herself in a room full of vampires (so super smart and clumsy you stupid girl)
  2. #2 Edward thinks that being with Bella puts her life in danger so he decides to leave her for good (he really did leave) but Bella thinks that he'll still come back
  3. #3 Here Edward is no where to be seen and Bella spends her time with Jacob
  4. #4 Edward STILL does not show up and it's STILL about Jacob (Grrr....)
  5. #5 Finally Alice shows up to tell Bella that Edward thinks Bella is dead (read the story to find out why because its complicated!)
  6. #6 Edward decides to kill himself by provoking the Volturi (the vampire mafia! Aaaah!!)
  7. #7 After "saving" Edward, Bella tells him to turn her into a vampire so they can live together forever
  8. #8 Jacob shows up to get Bella in trouble with her dad because he is jealous that Bella loves Edward, and the comment about him being a giant is because his body grew after he changed into a werewolf (yea, Jacob's not a human anymore. he changes into a werewolf at times)

There's supposed to be another, Eclipse but I guess the artist has not done it yet. Hehe.. I read all three and I can't wait for the fourth one to come out in a few months time: Breaking Dawn!! The books are really really good (go and read them if you have not!!!) and I hope that the movie will not disappoint me!!

Slice or stab: you pick

Some people are just idiots.

I remember my mum telling me weeks ago about how the Kuching police caught a few youths at Medan Pelita (this building is near my former school!) carrying CLEAVERS, CHOPPING KNIVES with them! You know those knives that you see the chicken rice man chop chicken heads and chicken bones with!

Now why the hell would they want or need to bring this things with them???

Did they get into some meaningless fight with another gang and brought it for self protection? Some of these dumb asses around town just got nothing better to do except to find fault with others! Not forgetting these are also the people who sometimes just loiter around shopping centres and man are they an EYESORE!!!

Hmmm.. Or they probably thought it was "cool" to carry it with them and maybe later it would come in handy as they can do some super lame Jet Li move on somebody they randomly pick to impress some girls nearby or what ever other stupid things they can think of! Grrrr... It makes me so super pissed that there are creeps who are so willing to put other people's lives at danger by carrying weapons with them and I really wonder how did they bring the knives?! A cleaver is pretty obvious if they just walked around with it and they would probably have to wrap it up in a jacket/shirt or stick it in their pants to hide it.

Oh why, oh why are there people misusing kitchen utensils nowadays?

Recently in London, an 18 year old boy was stabbed to death at a bar. A stranger walked into the bar with two knives and a fight occurred after that. He ended up stabbing the boy and injuring three others nearby. Witnesses said that the deceased was protecting his brother before he was stabbed. He was Robert Knox, a British teenage actor who had finished filming his role as Marcus Belby in the upcoming movie, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince".

Robert and his brother went to the bar just to hang out with some mates. Sad yea? Apparently, these violent teenage deaths in London have been accumulating and according to reports, it marks the 14th death of a teenager in a violent incident so far this year. If this is just London's figure, I wonder how many teenagers have been horribly killed so far in this year all around the world?

There will be no end to this kind of violence as we all live in a fallen world. All we have to do is to continue to be the rational human beings we are, set a good example to others especially to the younger ones, and find these sorry asses and lock them up in prison so that they would not hurt more innocent people!

Rock on Cook!

Did David Cook deserve to win?

I guess so. Although I would rather see David Archuleta win it, I'm kind of alright with the results. Finally, we have a rocker winning the American Idol title! So far, the previous winners were more to the pop and country and RnB kinda genre. I hope Cook is good at composing his own songs and I would like to see whether he can outdo Daughtry!

Whereas the other David, he is still so super shy. In the finale, he hardly said anything! When Ryan was chatting with both Davids, Cook was the one who spoke on the mic first and it seemed like he did not give little Archie an opportunity to speak! Grr... Anyway, I do hope that the recording companies sign him ASAP because his voice is soooo sweet!!!

Glad that its over because I now have one less show to watch on television! Seriously, tv is such a distraction! I have gotten used to live without watching any shows on the telly for weeks! Well, I guess cuz there's always the internet... eheh.. (^.^)

You got talent?

I'm pretty sure I'll wear this

Yes! I already know what to wear for my prom! But I don't have the dress with me now though. Since daddy insisted on flying down, he probably wants to be there in case anything "funny" happens or something, he will be bringing my stuff. It's a good thing AirAsia had a "zero fare" promotion on that day! Although it's more spending on the plane tickets and hotel room, (yes, daddy says that he wants to book a room there for that night. *sigh* Over-protective fathers... Nothing can stop them...) at least I don't have to spend on a dress!

That's about RM100-RM200 saved! Haha!

This is what I plan to wear:

I drew the dress from memory. *ooo yea!* It is cream coloured with a touch of gold at the neck line, sides and waist. The last time (and the first time) I wore it was two years back during my mum's cousin's wedding. It's so formal (and pricey!!) that I never wore it to any other functions after that. (^.^)

At least now all I have to worry is what accessories and shoes to match with it! =D

Exams

Three papers down so far. Gosh. It's taking forever to finish my AS exams!!

The next one is Pure Math Paper 1 on Thursday.

David A vs. David C

The final two: so wanted, so expected~

Always a cutie pie: David Archuleta

Always a rocker: David Cook

And we say goodbye to the last girl standing.

Always safe until now: Syesha Mercado

How great is our God!

God uses anyone, even a little boy, to send His message to people.

Be touched by this simple and sweet testimony:

Must listen!

"What If His People Prayed"
by Casting Crowns

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let Satan have one more
What if the church for heaven's sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took and stand upon God's promise
And stormed hell's rusty gates

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day
What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way
He said that they would hear
His promise has been made
He’s answered loud and clear, Yeah!
If only we would pray

If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray
If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face, Yeah!
And turn from their own way
He said that they would hear
His promise has been made
He’s answered loud and clear, Yeah!
If only we would pray

What if His people prayed

I re-thought my decision..

I changed my mind, I'm going to my grad ball on June the 13th (it's Friday the 13th in case any of you have not noticed!).

I paid my ticket this morning and all I need to do is change my flight booking or get another ticket, whichever is cheaper.

I know I am not supposed to worry about this during my exam but I cannot help thinking:

WHAT AM I TO WEAR???

Monday, May 12

One down, seven to go

Yaaah!

The first paper (out of eight) is over! I just did my Thinking Skills Paper 1 and it is now being sealed and sent off to Cambridge to be marked! =D Hehe..

It was alright and not as tough as many say it is, but a bit tricky, especially the arguments part. For the calculative side, there were some weird questions like how many times can the links rotate 180 degrees if six links were to be lifted given the possible arrangements of three links are so and so (diagram given) and another strange one on how can the hut be placed in the South Pole if the hunter moves south, east, north and back to the hut if it is usually refered in the Northen Hemisphere.

Huh???

Oh well! The written paper for Thinking Skills is this Wednesday and after that, I do not have to study the subject anymore! Hmmm... But I kind of enjoyed it though. (^.^)

Thursday, May 8

I want to dress up!

The prom's theme is Chateau Des Lumiere's which means "Castle of Light" in French. Sounds kind of grand yea? I was looking through some images of prom dresses just for fun and I came across a few which caught my eyes! If I had a hell lot of money (and if I am going), I would love to wear either one of these:

Alyce Designs: I love how the soft colours blend! Looks more party-ish though.

Alyce Designs: It has "FUN" and "ADORE ME" written all over it! I'd love to wear that!!

Alyce Designs: Simple and charming~ Reminds me of a sweet bridesmaid dress!

Alyce Designs: The dress is such a head turner! It's my colour and I'd love to wear that!!

Alyce Designs: Shimmery details and interesting pattern! But it may not suit my personality.

Demetrios: I love the side gathers! Although plain, I think it is the type where people will remember you in it!

Demetrios: One of my favourites!!! It is so elegant and very eye-catching!

Demetrios: Such a stunning dress, I want to wear that!!!

Wow! If only there is a shop with these dresses (or similar) here, I would spend all day trying them on for fun and try to sneak one out of the shop! Haha! I'm kidding about the shoplifting part but I would really love to wear them!!! *sigh*

Goodbye Jason Castro!

Although he has the looks (minus the hair), he has weak vocals (it is not good enough for the competition's final stage!) and he was doing very badly week after week so he really deserved to be kicked out.

"I think I see a rainbow.."

I do hope he has enough creativity to come up with a few fresh songs as his style is different (just a bit though). But I think it would be a total waste to watch him perform live in concerts, unless it is at a bar or lounge where you do not need to project your voice that much!
For the remaining three:
  1. Syesha Mercado has been improving and I actually will not be surprised if she ends up in the final two despite being bottom two/three about six times already. She's very lucky!
  2. David Cook is becoming more of a pompous snob but his fans don't care because he is actually pretty good. I like his style but his attitude is baaaaad! Booooo!
  3. David Archuleta is super shy and super sweet and sincere and has an amazing voice but I have this very uneasy feeling that fans of fallen finalists may vote against him. But he's so lovable!
The Top Three will have to give K.O. performances next week if they really want to make it to the finals!

Wednesday, May 7

I have decided...

I am not going to the prom!

Oh, and as I am sitting here in the library's computer room, a bunch of loud annoying guys in front of me are trying to cut and paste some faces (I think their friends' faces) onto Arnold Swarchenegger's body. They're putting it in their presentation of sine functions..

What?? It looks super lame and it is not even a clean and neat work! They're all hoo-hah about it still. Ish! Annoying buffoons! Shut up!

Grrrr....

Tuesday, May 6

Memories vs. Money

Why I should go to the prom?

  • My friends are going (most of my close friends)
  • Word has it that it will be the only grad ball this year for the CAL 2007 intake =(
  • I get to dress up! =D (YEAH BABY!!)
  • I have never been to a real prom before (parties yes, but not a grad ball..)
  • It would be a nice event to look back and remember when I am older (*granny-like voice* I remembered when I..)

Why I should skip the prom?

  • I would have to change my flight (already booked it on Friday 13th June! Grrr...)
  • I have to find a dress (I want to knock people out of their socks!)
  • I have to find matching shoes (I don't have a suitable pair)
  • I have to do my hair (unless I don't mind looking like a cave woman.. Yeah right! As if I'll do that!)
  • I have to make sure I have transport to and fro
  • I am not 100% interested in it actually (I don't know if it will even be great anyways!)

So far those are the only main reasons and issues I have for and against the idea of going to my grad ball at Renaissance. The BIG "put-off" for me is that I would have to spend A LOT of money just to go there. I know that some of my friends are going, and it will be a nice memory we would share but.. I cannot decide which I would rather forgo! Saving the money I would need to spend, or the additional memories of my college life!

Believe it or not?

Last weekend was amazing!

Granny and Ahku (that's what I call Uncle Shelby) took a taxi to Subang around 1pm after they checked in to another hotel. It turns out that Hotel Nova was not what it seemed on the internet (it's not Novotel, they're both totally different hotels). So, we stayed in JW Marriott for the weekend! The place was just opposite Pavilion and the hotel room was SUPERB!!

Ok, back to Granny and Ahku coming to meet me first.

They were curious about how my place looked like and all that's why they came all the way to pick me up (via taxi). They did not like the jam one bit (who does?) and Granny complained that the area was very very dirty. The sidewalks and alleys are filled with rubbish and, you get the picture.. So they hung out at my apartment and waited for me to pack my things before going to Marriott.

Normal taxi rates from Subang to the city should be around RM20 plus but since it was heavy traffic hour, the taxi we stopped charged us RM35. We did not get dropped off at the hotel footsteps as the jam was terrible, TERRIBLE I say (the journey lasted an hour and we were still not there yet! Grrrrr...)! So the taxi stopped at Sungai Wang. I haven't had lunch before the ride so we three went to Kim Gary Restaurant, a Hong Kong food chain. The pork chops are very tender and yummy! If anyone goes there, order what ever on the menu that has pork chop! It's worth it! Hehe.. (^.^)

After lunch we walked back to the hotel and rested for the rest of the afternoon. I explored the tv channels, jumped on the bed (a bit.. =P) and checked out the bathroom! The bathroom had a huge mirror, bathtub and separate shower (I LOVE spacious bathrooms!!!) and the two double beds outside (I LOVE BIG BEDS!!!) had many many soft and fluffy pillows and were super comfortable! Waaaah...

Anyway, we went down for dinner around 8pm to Carlos Mexican Canteena (a mexican restaurant, d'oh) at the shopping complex just next to Pavilion. I thought that my Seafood Enchaladas would be just a little bit spicy but it was EXTREMELY SPICY, so I traded my enchaladas for Ahku's Mexican Beef Burger. Then we had dessert at BR before calling it a day! Ice cream~ Yum~

Saturday!

We had our breakfast at DOME (Egg Hollandaise and hot chocolate for me!) before we headed out to KLCC. The reason why we walked all the way there was because Ahku wanted to have lunch later at Madam Kwan's. We only discovered that there was another outlet of Madam Kwan's at Pavilion, Level 1 after checking out the back page of the menu! Ish! Granny then said that she saw it last night but I doubt it because we were on Level 3 and up and to see Madam Kwan's from where we were, you would have to have X-ray vision.. Hehe.. (^.^)

I bought a few stuff from KLCC in the afternoon:

Tada!

A few choir songs which looked good (I need a piano to try them!!)

I realized I did not have a yellow top with me (so I got one)

I thought they looked cute on my long feet. (^.^)

Granny was fine with the walking but Ahku was tired. He needed his coffee to keep him going! Haha! We went back to the hotel at around 4.30pm and had dinner a few hours later at Tony Roma's (in Pavilion). The servings were HUGE and I had to pack my Shrimp Pasta because I could only eat half! Eeep! I love it that they gave free flow of fresh fruit juices! Not many restaurants would do that because they are probably very stingy and would not earn much profit. (^.^) I took three glasses of orange juice to take advantage of that! I felt like I could explode though. Hehehe..

We had about an hour and a half left to wander around Pavilion before it closed and I managed to buy some stuff again! I don't usually buy so many things at once but Ahku said that I can get anything I saw which I liked so I did! =D

I got these:

diva, Skin Food, ESPRIT

It was on discount and Ahku's member card got it another 10% off!

I think they're sweet~

Really needed one!

It was fun hanging out with Granny and Ahku in KL for the weekend but it was a bit too short. The next day they would be leaving for Singapore by bus at 1.30pm. I wish that it could have been longer but I have exams next week!

On Sunday morning, we had our brunch at the Pavilion food court. I did not know what to eat so we just ordered our drinks first. Ahku went to get the drinks and Granny told me to have a look around first while she reserved our table. I walked towards the sign that says "Pan Mee" and "Teppanyaki" but I did not feel like eating those so I turned back.

Then I was inches away from someone so familiar. A group of six men walked past me and I stopped. I turned around to get a better look and was very surprised to see him here. Well, it is not really that unexpected but I just could not believe that I was seeing him in the flesh! There were not many people in the food court and those that saw him probably did not have the guts to walk up to him. I was almost like them, then I changed my mind and followed him.

He was walking away and out of the food court, and I as getting further and further away from Granny and Ahku, BUT I DID NOT CARE! I was thinking that I might not have the opportunity to see him face to face again and I must take this chance to say Hi and hopefully take a picture!

I was lucky. And the Malay family ahead of me were lucky too.

They took a video with him and I waited behind him. After he was done, he was walking away. I quickly caught up to him and said:

Crazy me: Tun, Tun, Tun!

(He turned around)

Crazy me: Boleh ambik gambar dengan Tun tak?

(shake hands)

Tun: Boleh lah. 10 sen satu yer? (laughing)

Crazy me: Apa la Tun ni! Jahat le.. =P

Tun: Kidding la.. Boleh. =D

So I stood next to him, held my camera phone and snapped but it was not centre.

Crazy me: It's not centre Tun. Can take again?

Then one of his bodyguards (there were five guys with him and I assumed they were bodyguards) offered to take the picture.

Tun: So where are you from?

Crazy me: I'm from Kuching.

Tun: Oooh. So you cuti-cuti here?

Crazy me: Nope. I'm studying.

Tun: Oooh. Where are you studying?

Crazy me: Taylor's College.

Tun: Very good.

SNAP!

Crazy me: Thank you Tun! Nice meeting you!

Tun: Yer.. Good luck! =D (shakes hands)

Wow! I did not expect to see Mahathir, our ex-PM in person! That was really a rare opportunity and I am glad I could get a photo of me and him! He was very nice and luckily the five bodyguards with him did not beat me up for following behind him. Haha! I quickly went to Granny and told her what happened. She was so surprised and wanted to see him but he was not there anymore. Even Ahku was envious that I got a photo with him. =P

Later, the taxi came at 12.30pm and we dropped Granny and Ahku at the bus station before I went back to my apartment. I did not study at all during the weekend but I think that I would not regret it! I hope not! I had fun in the city, got some things that I wanted and I also have a photo of Mahathir and me!

How cool is that?!

Friday, May 2

Another weekend away

Uncle Shelby and Granny are already here in KL and they are staying in Novotel. Mummy told me that Uncle Shelby complained that it was run down (but I don't think its as bad as my apartment!)!! They will be meeting up with me later after class because they want to have a look at my apartment and college. Hmmm.. I haven't tidied up my room yet though. Hehe.. (^.^)

I can't wait to go KL and shop! The last time I went to the city was before Chinese New Year this year and I bought a lot of good clothes! I really don't like to spend money unnecessarily but if there are things worth buying, I WILL NOT lose the opportunity!! I hope I'll find some more things which I will like this weekend! Yay!

So this means that, Uncle Shelby owes me EIGHT years worth of birthday presents since the last time I saw him was in 2000 when I went to Singapore!

Wahahaha!
